Challenge
After 20 years in business, an ensemble firm had built an ownership model around an employee partnership model. Over the years, advisors would break away from wirehouses or big banks and land at this RIA. In doing so, communications had to be strategic and avoid conflicts with contractual agreements in place with their former employers.
Solution
Out & About Communications worked with the firm to assess each breakaway advisor's situation. There were nuances to what we could and could not be communicated to the public. We worked on a timely solution that set up the advisor and the firm for success on the transition day.
Deliverables
- Launch Ready: The advisor's bio, photo, press release, email signature, and all assets were set up and digitally pushed on the “launch day.”
- Internal Communications: The advisor was trained on all of the marketing assets to use.
- Communications: Bearing in mind contractual obligations, when able to reach out to past clients we armed the advisor with talking points, a letter to clients, and key collateral.
Results
Over several months, the advisors moved their “elephant” clients along with the bulk of their book of business to their new firm.
