Challenge

The firm had gone through extensive strategy and repositioning, and had just completed a website redesign with us. It was in a position where it was investing in the future of the business. With this new positioning, the firm wanted to turn up the volume. Its assets under management (AUM) were close to $500m but it had lofty growth goals. Its advisors were strapped for time, making it necessary to reallocate their time to client-focused work but know the marketing engine was humming.

Solution

Out & About Communications worked with the firm to go through a marketing strategy that expanded over multiple years. The first order of business was creating lead funnels and turning its website into a tool to help nurture qualified leads. We did this alongside the more marketing maintenance tasks to stay top of mind with prospects, clients, and centers of influence. 

Deliverables

  • Lead Funnels: The firm had identified a firm-wide target market and advisor-specific targets. Each quarter, we focused on a lead funnel project, putting together a specific lead funnel campaign for each target. These assets were added to the website and advisors share them with prospects and COIs.
  • Social Media: The firm wanted to keep its social media alive, especially for LinkedIn. This was important both for the company page and content advisors could share with their networks. We managed its evergreen social media and created posts to promote blogs and timely updates like awards.
  • SEO-Driven Blog Content: The firm wrote blog posts two times a week just because that’s what historically was done. We took a step back and looked at the data to identify the topics we should focus on, word count, and more. We recalibrated our efforts and used the blog posts to attract qualified prospects. 
  • Monthly E-Newsletter: The newsletter was an integrated part of the firm's marketing efforts. It included unique content, firm-wide updates, and more. We kept this going to stay top of mind with its list.
  • Miscellaneous Updates and Upkeep: We took on tasks like website updates and backups, new website page builds, collateral updates, award opportunities, and more.


Results

We have partnered since 2019. As of this writing, the firm is well over $500m AUM and on its way to $1B AUM. It has gutted and designed a new office, added new partners, and grown its prospect base, and now generates leads through non-traditional COI channels such as the website, awards, blog content, and more. We are in a pattern where the content calendar is managed and adjusted strategically; we are part of the firm’s team.
