After 15+ years of 20% growth year after year, the company's culture and brand weren’t keeping up. The C-suite identified the need for a tighter brand to level up against the competition, and to be a key element across all departments.
Solution
Out & About Communications worked with leadership to go through an extensive strategy session to understand the business positioning and long-term growth goals. Through these discussions and aligning teams, we executed the deliverables.
Deliverables
- Communications Hub: An internal portal was created for company-wide communication and department-specific teams. The “hub” acted as a source of truth for all things marketing. It housed all of the brand assets, FAQs, and more.
- Brand Refresh: The brand refresh helped the company to level up against the competition. It included adding new guidelines, introducing supporting colors and fonts for different uses, defining image treatment, and creating custom brand icons.
- Brand Onboarding: A “brand onboarding” toolkit was put together with HR. This included a communications workflow for new hires to get their bios on the website, gain access to the communications hub, and more.
- Brand Personality: The brand personality acted as an “umbrella” theme for the brand at large. It is a tool that helps communicate voice/tone for the client service team, is used as a hiring tool, and is channeled across the company's departments and efforts.
Results
This pivotal decision allowed the company to be brand-aligned and level up against the competition. The brand assets were folded into all departments. The training and communications with leadership to set expectations and encouraged teams to own brand excellence. The company has exceeded its 20% year-after-year growth and has set the bar higher.
